Giving Tuesday 2022 marks the 10th anniversary of the annual global day of giving.
This year, charitable behavior became less predictable as the economy fluctuated and the definition of giving evolved for many US donors. Despite it all, donors showed up like never before, taking action to support the organizations they care about on Giving Tuesday.
In 2022, the generosity of 243,254 donors around the nation contributed $44,168,979 in donations through the Classy platform. What’s even more remarkable is the growth in recurring donations. This Giving Tuesday recurring donors on Classy gave 37% more recurring dollars compared to Giving Tuesday last year. The emphasis on recurring giving shows us that donors are passionate about making a lasting impact that extends beyond Giving Tuesday.
As we look ahead to the rest of the giving season, we’ve put together a few visuals to capture the impact of another successful Giving Tuesday.
Instead of seeing Giving Tuesday as a piece of our year-end campaign, we created a dedicated Giving Tuesday campaign as a way to jumpstart year-end giving. We narrowed our messaging to donors and made it clear why this day was so important. We also encouraged people to reach out to their networks to unlock giving on a broader scale.
