To Write Love on Her Arms (TWLOHA)

To Write Love on Her Arms is a nonprofit dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, and inspire, and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery.

Since its start in 2006, this nonprofit has donated over $3 million directly into treatment and recovery, making it possible for people to access mental health care when they need it the most.

Each year, TWLOHA connects over 11 million people in more than 100 countries to the message that hope and help is real. Annually, their work to provide mental health resources connects 40,000 people to services like crisis lines, support groups, and affordable local mental health resources through the FIND HELP Tool.

In 2021 alone, the TWLOHA team delivered the message of hope to all 50 states and 44 countries through 21,000 fulfilled merch orders. They shared over 120 stories of mental health and healing on the TWLOHA blog, podcast, and through LIVE events. Also, their new program, Between the Bells, had 16,000 students involved in conversations about mental health and sharing vital resources.

Fountain House 

Fountain House is a national mental health nonprofit fighting to improve health, increase opportunity, and end social and economic isolation for people most impacted by mental illness.

Founded in 1948 in New York City, Fountain House originated the clubhouse model of community mental health that has been replicated more than 300 times in nearly 40 U.S. states and in 30 countries around the world. 

Fountain House members are hospitalized and experience crisis significantly less than others with serious mental illness, resulting in 21% lower Medicaid costs. The nonprofit supports a diverse member base, 40% of which come to the program with a recent history of homelessness, 26% of whom have prior criminal justice involvement, and 33% of whom have a co-occurring substance use disorder.

Its members complete their education, find paid work, and achieve health and wellness goals at significantly higher rates than people living with serious mental illness who don’t have access to their programs.

Project HEAL 

Project HEAL is on a mission to create a world where everyone with an eating disorder has the opportunities and resources they need to recover.
